I'm having trouble with figuring out a synonym..?

i'm talking with my friend about different types of learning ways, and we can't think of the intelligent word for "hands - on learning" i thought it was kinetic, my friend thought it was visual learning and my other friend thought it was tactiley, please help us out here, 'cause google had no idea what i was talking about...
