Have you ever met a person like this?

I knew a girl who would lie constantly. I didnt know at first, and in fact found out only after dating her. One thing she would do is take other peoples stories, and tell them as if they were her own. Also she would do this from movies and books. Awhile after I last saw her, a mutual friend, jess, said that the girl told her that she was arrested for pot possession. Turns out it was a lie too. Are these ppl common, becuz its really annoying!
